             abstract = "The Mato Grosso state has an important role in national and 
                         world-wide farming production and has been suffering intense 
                         social and economics changes in the last 30 years. Geoprocessing 
                         techniques became an essential instrument to generate information 
                         about these matters. It contributes for the funds distribution and 
                         agricultural financings and allows a new approach of government 
                         politics. Numerical data of soybean production and human 
                         development index (HDI), from 1991 and 2000, were put in a spatial 
                         format, transformed in gray scale values and than changed in 
                         thematic maps, as well as the difference between the two source 
                         data, creating the soybean and HDI dynamics. The outstanding 
                         results, considering the HDI dynamic, were found in Ga{\'u}cha do 
                         Norte (highest difference) and Juruena (lowest difference). Taking 
                         the soybean production into consideration, the most important 
                         results were found in Sorriso e Sapezal municipalities with the 
                         highest values between 1991 and 2000. A discussion of how this 
                         kind of study can be used in governmental decisions is 
                         presented.",
